GENNEP, THE NETHERLANDS: task-specific audio interface developer Cymatic Audio is proud to announce that it is planning to release the uTrack24 MADI Module, a user-installable MADI (Multichannel Audio Digital Interface) option card for its 19-inch rack-mountable uTrack24 24-track recorder, player, and interface… Since shipments started in November 2014, Cymatic Audio’s award-winning uTrack24 24-track recorder, player, and interface has more than lived up to its dexterous design brief as the go-to solution for anyone wishing to handle high-quality recordings or audio playback without computer constraints.
Indeed, it records directly onto USB media plugged into its uncluttered front panel. There the 24 three-colour LEDs clearly show the level of each of its namesake channels while those LEDs can conveniently be used as a 24-segment level meter for one of those channels individually. Additionally, a large LCD clearly shows all additional important information and allows fast and intuitive editing of parameters via an endless push encoder. Lastly, large illuminated front panel-positioned transport controls clearly help with making hassle-free recordings and are specifically suited to overcoming far from ideal lighting conditions that are typically associated with onstage and off-stage operation. Little wonder, then, that the uTrack24 is proving popular with its intended user base. Better still, seamless integration of the uTrack24’s multichannel audio I/O with MADI-based audio systems will soon be becoming reality with the upcoming release of the uTrack24 MADI Module, making it possible to record 24 separate audio tracks from the output of MADI-equipped digital consoles and stage boxes; 24 tracks of uTrack24-delivered pre-recorded pristine digital audio can, of course, conversely be outputted to a digital console’s inputs. Indeed, integration has never been so simple or interconnections made more flexible, thanks to the uTrack24 MADI Module’s onboard optical in and out and (BNC) coaxial in and out connectors. Connect a uTrack24 MADI Module-equipped uTrack 24 to a MADI-equipped digital console for fanciful 24-channel virtual soundcheck playback or handling high-quality 24-channel soundcheck recordings with the greatest of ease, for example — and all at the push of an illuminated button! Before working with the uTrack24 MADI Module, uTrack24 users must first update their device — download the latest firmware update from a dedicated webpage (http://www.cymaticaudio.com/downloads) on the Cymatic Audio website. Thereafter, technical advantages abound further still when installing the uTrack24 MADI Module. Indeed, it works with multiple MADI protocols, channel counts, and sample rates with flexible routing of 56/64 source channels to 24 recording inputs and flexible routing of 24 playback outputs to 56/64 outputs, as well as allowing loop output of incoming MADI signals; thoughtfully, the uTrack24’s 24 analogue outputs (on standard 25-pin D-Sub connectors) can still remain active while using the uTrack24 MADI Module’s digital outputs. And speaking of those digital outputs, it is worth noting here that fibre-optic/coaxial cabling allows for very long cabling runs — perfect for handling high-quality recordings or audio playback in larger venues. All in all, then, the uTrack24 MADI Module is surely a no-brainer for serious users of the uTrack24 24-track recorder, player, and interface. Install it with ease and prepare to be amazed at everything MADI has to offer!
The uTrack24 MADI Module will be shipping in Summer 2015 and available to buy from Cymatic Audio’s global network of dealers and retailers with projected pricing significantly lower than €400.00 EUR/$400.00 USD.
