NAMM Bass 1 – Amboyna Burl Monarch 4 Elite:

Looking at this gem of a Monarch the first thing our eyes are drawn to is its gorgeous solid Amboyna Burl top. We have only had the pleasure of working with this material several times over the past 30 years, and this piece has a grain pattern so intense it is reminiscent of the sand storms on the surface of Jupiter. An old-growth Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard rests atop a 5-piece Maple neck with Bubinga stringers and a Flame Maple core. This bass’s Ash body, Alder Tone Block, and Thru-Neck construction provides wonderfully balanced tone. As with all of our instruments (but even more so NAMM basses), this instrument combines exceptional playability and pro-player reliability with gorgeous tone and aesthetics.

NAMM Bass 2 – Bastogne Walnut Imperial 5 Elite:

fodera-namm-2-01

We are pleased to present our second offering for NAMM 2014 — an Imperial 5 Elite with a striking, solid Crotch Bastogne Walnut top. The iridescent, almost three-dimensional quality of this top is a sight to behold and photos simply do not do it justice. Bastogne Walnut is the rarest of the rare and is a natural hybrid of English and Claro Walnut.  We have used an Ash body and Alder tone block to provide an even, well balanced response across the tonal spectrum.  The highly figured Birds Eye Maple fingerboard provides a strong visual contrast to the Bastogne Walnut top along with providing a nice tonal compliment to the body woods. The Bubinga stringers in the five-piece neck add an additional level of refinement. An instrument built with the pro player in mind, a Fodera through and through.
