What you’ll find in the Box:
– a DVD containing the Aerodrums software
– a usb-powered lamp and lens holder that needs to be attached to a Sony Playstation 3 Eye camera (not included)
– 2 drumsticks + stick holder (each stick has a 3 gram reflective ball at the end)
– 2 reflective foot pieces for triggering drum pedals
– 2 reflective shin pieces that can be used in place of the foot pieces if you play with „heel up“ foot technique
– paper shades
– a printed manual
– a registration key for Aered, the drum notation editor we also sell
What OS is supported:
Right now, Aerodrums requires Windows Vista, 7, or 8. We plan to start working on the Mac version soon after NAMM but no release date has been scheduled yet. We don’t have current plans to make a Linux version – it depends on demand.
Press Release:
Aerodrums is an air-drumming instrument. It runs on your computer and understands your drumming intent by watching you drum through a high speed camera. Aerodrums fits in a backpack with your laptop, feels and sounds as good as a real drum kit, can be silent to others around you, and is affordable. Here is a teaser video illustrating some of Aerodrums’ advantages:
You will need a Windows computer and a Playstation 3 Eye camera to run Aerodrums. It will be available after NAMM this month on Amazon in the US and EU and cost $160 / €120 / £100. (The camera is available there too for between $6 and $30). A Mac version will be available later.
